So, This Is How It Started.....

I moved up to Glasgow about two years ago, and I had moved from one shitty flat to another, barely making ends meets, and constantly in and out of jobs.
Then, at the beginning of this year, a friend of a friend mentioned he was looking to start a farm growing cannabis, but, as he lived with his parents, he couldn't do it in his own house.
So I thought about it for a while, and decided- Why, the hell, not?

So he bought all the equiptment and set this up in my flat.

Thats the grow light, set up in my kitchen cupboard. In the bottom of the cupboard, is plant pots, a garden tray, a fan (although I never use the fan).

This plant is one week old. They need a ton of light at this stage- and it costs A LOT of electricity. I also have 2 seeds germinating, so I'll be planting them soon.

When you germinate a seed, you wrap it in wet tissue and leave it in a dark place for around four days, until the roots break through. Then they are ready to plant.

There are a lot of things to keep track of just now. Such as the pH of the soil, and of the water you are giving it. Making sure you aren't over/underfeeding it, the temperature, and the amount of light it is getting (about 18 hours a day).

A lot of this is just finding out as you go along. There is only so much you can read up about. Don't get me wrong, I have found a few websites that have been extremely informative. But you learn by doing.

My first harvest was an absolute nightmare. Out of 5 seeds, 2 plants survived. There were constant problems with burning, and just dying. I couldn't determine exactly what killed them off, but I would guess at heat, and perhaps, not enough light. I am no expert but.
From the two plants that survived, I harvested them too early. So I have two and half ounce of useless weed :(
